Talk to the police Superintendent directly on Monday at vizaganagaram

Superintendent of Police Navin Gulati launched ‘Dial your SP' programme at the District Police Office on Monday. He received 19 phone calls from across the district from aggrieved persons. Most of the complaints were related to family disputes, land disputes, unauthorised organisation of chit, gambling and high-handed behaviour of police personnel in some cases.

Dr. Gulati gave a patient hearing to their complaints and made a note in his book. He informed them that he would direct police officers concerned to take action on their complaints within 48 hours.

He said that the programme would continue every Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and asked people to utilise the facility. The phone number is 08922-276163.

In a separate release, the SP appealed to people to appoint private security personnel with youth in their localities for night patrolling in their colonies. The police were ready to impart training to such personnel free of cost. Further, he asked people to inform nearby police stations before leaving homes on vacation. He said that they could dial 1090 or 100 (toll free numbers) if they found any stranger moving suspiciously in their localities.
