All the city police commissionerates are now implementing the ‘know your case status’ facility for complainants on the orders of the director general of police, Mr R.R. Girish Kumar.Anyone can now log into www.apstatepolice.org and can find out the status of the case or the stage of investigation.Cyberabad police, which started the facility, is not only providing online information through websites but is also informing petitioners of the case status through email and SMS.Once the complainants register themselves with the website, details of the status of the case and progress will be send automatically to the subscriber through mail till the case comes to a logical end,” said the Cyberabad commissioner of police, Mr Prabhakar Reddy.He added that information slips were being handed out at all 41 police stations along with the first information report which contains the information about the three methods of checking status.“Case status can also be known on www.cyberabadpolice.gov.in,” Mr Reddy said.“Also, anybody can send an SMS to 9640 100 100 with the details of police station name and crime number to know case status information.”The e-initiative has been started to enable complainants to monitor the progress of their case at the click of a button.
